The Good Wife

It used to be

what happened

was

between the two of us

and leisurely we walked

side by side

in lust-

But

Who can you trust,

now?

/

And

Happily

I walk

Without you

now

On my own,

inside.

This fragile line

I once walked

is made of dust

left in my wake.

And

these selfish eyes

see

only what I will take

-from you-

My, my Love

this time.

\

I don't let go

too eas

-il

-y.

So beg and pleed

On

Your

Knees.

So tender

the skin

on the shag

with some

love stains

left in vain.

/

Only my fate

will tell

So slow- wwwww

what's left

of my love.

Only this ache

will grow

as you sleep.

Only in dreams

can you distill

the sweat

Of our love

That I'll allow

you

to drink.

Dear Sha,

You have an incorrigibly terrific mind and pen, melding philosophical pondering, selfishness issues and tease into a punch of a poem. It really works. Congratulations, Brian

enjoyed this Sha

couldn't help but think how much I would like to coax it into a tidier form, but I probably shouldn't have told you that. cheers Craig
