My Tree

I read a poem recently and am unable to find it again... but in it there was
an expression of fearing to cause the tree pain if a branch was trimmed.
It was broken, but still could bud and leaf out... It made me think of similarities
between trees and humans...and their/our need for care, even tho sometimes
in doing so, may cause pain.  I hope you enjoy the poem:

MY TREE

Prune me, for I am broken
The wind in its wrath
Has snapped some of my branches

Cut me, for I am burned
The lightning in its striking
Has scorched some of my limbs

Snip me, for I am frozen
The frost in its freezing
Has frost-bitten my leaves

Water me, so I may grow strong
The sun will be hot and
Because of your care
I will shade you beneath me
I hope you will find solace there
