Through Psyche's Eyes #10 - Awakening Love

The plague of Pandora
Again infects me,

As slowly...
I open this box,
To peer inside...

Only

to find,

nothing.

What sort of trick is this?
And why do my eyelids feel heavier
Than all of the burdens
I have been carrying?

What is this comfort,
This easing of my struggles?
I feel the cares of life
Slip from my shoulders
As the sweet shade of death
Is drawn over my form........

So it is only death
That shook Love awake enough
To come to me....

You gather the eternal slumber
From my weary eyes,
Placing it back in the box,
Telling me to complete my mission.

As you fly to petition
The cause of lovers before Jove,
To entreaty a request of immortality...

The request granted
A sweet new taste now fills my mouth,
Of immortal ambrosia
And eternal kisses of Love.
