Poem - As it is, So I Go

As it is, So I Go As it is, so I gowhen you return homewith a menacing look,at the leastdisapproval. So I go,so I go,who am I to you?On days like theseI feellike I ruined your life. When I was 27I was like that too,so perhaps the shoe nowis on the other foot,in a manner of speaking. When I was that age(how you hate when I say that)I too was selfish, and arrogant.I never saw myselfthat way.Who ever does? I suppose it could be saidthat I am self – conscious.Still, I provided you a home cooked meal, despite my dead weight, and gross incompetence. At times like thisI hoverbetween frustration, anger, and wild disappointment. My job, thoughis to keep these emotions in check;“another day on the homefront,”if you will.
