Un-educated in poetry?

Almost no-one is. It is taught badly at schools, the tertiary education system is geared to business. The number of poetry degrees on this site are 2 that I know of.
That is why this site is so necessary and why every poet must not feel impeded by a lack of formal training. Most Poetic academics I know would bore your tits off. (excuse my aussie slang, do Americans say that too?).
My point is that we are here to help each other and should not be afraid to. Have an opinion. State it with respect but passion! Only by having the courage to say "I like this because..." or I hate this because..." can we truly honestly support each other. And it includes the "nittypickys", sometimes one comma will make or break a poem. One Syllable too many or too few. Read the poetry aloud if you are serious about contributing and learning, hear the music of the language.
Only by practicising stating our feelings about other's poetry can we become more honest and critical of our own. At least let self-interest be a motivator. Your poetry will improve.
Have courage my brothers and sisters! Say what you think. The more you say it the better you will become at elucidating it, and become better poets.
I am working with my current Protegees not just on their poetry but on their commentary.
I would like to hear some feedback on this forum. I am known as a shit but I care passionately about poetry and this site.
