The great debate...

Here are all 27 Amendments to the Constitution.  The first 10 are collectively known as the Bill of Rights.  Out of this whole list, I do not see where we have a "constitutionally protected right to un-eduated children, harrass Muslims, have bad healthcare, etc."  "Th right to kill people with guns" as you put it, is a gross misinterpretation of the 2nd Amendment.  We have the right to PROTECT ourselves, and our loved ones using firearms.  We do not have the right to go around shooting people - that's called murder - a felonious act in this country.  Self defense laws are VERY strict here, and there have been many cases where a homeowner was found guilty, even when playing by the rules.  Case in point - burglar breaks in to someone's home with the intent to steal stuff, ok?  Owner shoots him in the leg with birdshot (man is still alive) as a warning.  OWNER is sued by BURGLAR for injuries sustained and WINS.

As for us "turning into a third world country" - I don't think that's going to happen.  We've held these standards of practices for many years, and have flourished.  Are all of them right?  Of course not.  Can things be better?  Absolutely.  Heathcare, I agree, is starting to suck pretty bad.  I'd like to say that we should be like Europe - National heath care to every citizen, you get a meal card for food, and other perks.  Great!  Want to know what Europe has that we don't??  MOROCCAN EXTREMISTS!  The people of Europe, even as far north-east as Holland, are subjected to the attacks and pillaging of these people.  They are ruthless, and they will kill you over a couple Euros.  Ok, so Europe's out...  How about Asia?  Developed nation, shitty healthcare, overpopulated, and poor.  Nope, don't want to be there.  The middle East.  Lots of oil, rich princes, treats their people like crap, and there's fighting everywhere.  Don't want to be them either.  Who's left?  Canada?  If it wasn't so friggin' cold up there, I'd entertain the idea.  Nationwide heathcare, nice people, poor, but sustainable, and fairly peaceful.

Sorry, Jess.  As much as some people loath us (for good reason sometimes) I can't imagine living anywhere else.  I love my country, I love my Lord, and your spouting off will not change that.  Unfortunately, I can't bash Australia too bad, because they have done rather well in the past.  Even though you had a 4.6% unemployment rate, which, out of 20 million people is a lot, you've managed to keep inflation down, and interest rates up consistantly.  You've been majorly in the hole for the last 50 years, but then again, so have we.  I'm not saying the US is the best country on earth, but it's where I'd rather be in most cases....
