Events leading up to Basking In The Calm - and the future....
So, as many have been able to figure out, our relocation agreement has gone through. All the paperwork is done, and we can now sign a lease for a place and officially move. Everything is packed, except for the everyday essentials. What my last poem was based off of was Jon signing and faxing back the final agreement. There is nothing left to worry about - and we can now move forward. The "calm" is the week or so that we have nothing to do. Jon needs to go up to train some people for a safety class on Tuesday-Thursday of this upcoming week, but they might just ask him to stay up there since he officially starts back up there next Monday anyway. We should have a lease signed by the end of the week - end of next week at the very latest. I'll be in Pennsylvania this upcoming weekend, and then it'll pretty much be pack the rest of the stuff, and go!
Once we're up there, I'll finish up my registration back at the school I was going to when we left. I won't be continuing the criminal justice major, though. I'll be going into Medical Laboratory Technology full time, and either working part time, or finishing up the criminal justice degree. Since I missed the fall semester there, I'll work full time, and pick up school in January. I should be done in less than two years. At that time, I'd like to get somewhat established either in a hospital lab, or a private lab (Labcorp or similar) and do the time there that it will take the finish the criminal justice degree. I'll then fuse the two degrees and lab experience all into one big thing, and try to get into forensics or criminology. I'll basically be a shoo in for it!
We've set a tentative date for getting married, provided it's agreed upon by those who have to travel. As for right now, it's April 18th. We've put the major planning on the back burner until we're fully relocated, etc. Invitations and such will probably be going out in January.
So, that's the update of my little world. Quite busy, but optimistic. We just need to get through two years until I graduate, and then we can start doing the stuff that we really like. Jon can finally get out of semiconductors if he chooses, and we might finally be able to settle down back home in Pennsylvania, get a house, and start being a real family... LOL!!
