PRICE OF FREEDOM
PRICE OF FREEDOM It was in their interest firstTo scramble and partition the landStretching across the continentFor global economic adventuresIn the free and independent AfricaOf great ancestral heritage; They all came in flocksLike vultures and other scavengersThe wolves disguised as sheepBearing the Lord’s Holy GrailFor the supplicating soulsThey came with wine and jewelsFor our fancy and intoxicationThey came to save and to serveWith claims of Divine AuthorityTo form his majesty’s governmentWith strings to wrestle a puppet’s danceTo tunes of metallic shotsAnd songs of exploitationThat was the price for our freedomTo hate, fight and kill one another
