I Was There

For all of the times you thought that no one cared
I was always there.
Were you even aware?
Draw close to Me and feel the breath of My Spirit's touch,
My arms are longingly outstretched,
My child, I love you so much.

Through the sudden break in the clouds
I broke forth in the sunlight
That shone warmly upon your face.
I Am with you in joy and sorrow,
I Am your today and all of your tomorrows.
I have saved you by My Grace.

You cannot imagine what I have planned
For those who belong to me.
Though times are difficult
And trials invade your soul,
I died and arose to make you whole.

I broke the chains that held you.
I took their power away.
I invaded hell and set the captives free.
I will never leave you or forget you,
I'm coming back to get you one day.
Child, do not take your eyes off of Me.
