Happy Birthday America

IN CONGRESS, JULY 4, 1776The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.



What a great document this is. Though the United States has stumbled and made mistakes, it all comes back to this. I am proud of these words and although it has taken a long time, we are closer than ever before of reaching these goals. Although we are not perfect we have the fortitude to try, to learn from mistakes and go onward.

Many are the people here and abroad that would shame this document and the Constitution, but also are many that will proudly stand and say they love our country, this document and the Constitution and fight to realize its dream. We do not restrict a persons belief whether it be Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Wiccan or none whatsoever. No matter our mistakes and our stumbles we have the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. All over the world people wish to come here to realize their dreams.
I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN, but not so blind that I can't see that we make mistakes.
