I disagree with you
and you with me
over what?
we have the same needs
Water, food, shelter, love
so what is wrong?

Are you a jingoist?
(extreme patriotism in the form of aggressive foreign policy)
I want for all of us

how to redress these differences?

There is something else,
not need or want,
no different in nature than a drunk’s plonk
or a junky’s needle.
It’s called power.

I look at the facts and see
Abundance for all,
it’s plain to see.
Corporate dicks,
impotent but for their power to hurt
Cause this shameful waste.

I could make a list in face of,
oil
wasted food
World Bank debt
puppet juntas for USA profit.
I don’t speak in blame,
I profit.
But would like to be allowed not too.

I feel the need to address with haste
this stupid, stupid, ignorant waste
We all agree,
its plain to see
there is plenty for all.

Who disagrees?
Power junkys of course.
How do they persuade us?
By making us believe in greed.
Though I won’t attack a particular creed,
original sin’s a nasty thought indeed.
Perpetuated on all who believe
that we are in our nature greedy.

Give me water, food, shelter and love
