And So It Begins.....

Was looking at the objectives, assignments, and general guidelines for these two classes.  School officially starts tomorrow, but I noticed that one of the profs unlocked all the options for the Gov't class - meaning we can submit assignments and such - and being me, have already started on unit #1.

All in all, it's gonna be a busy semester.  It's compressed (8 weeks instead of 16) and so they're trying to squish as much in as they can - and the results are overwhelming.  I can already tell that this semester will take up even more time than the previous semester did.  Just for Gov't alone, we have to do one journal entry a week, participate in 1 discussion a week (forum thread), do two quizzes a week, and there are two major essays.

For the Comm class, there's one quiz a week, participation in a 60 minute chat room a week, write an analysis of that chat room, and there's a written assignment each week.

Needless to say, my extra-curricular activities are going to be greatly impacted.  I'll still try to continue my Tuesday night chat (assuming my instructor doesn't assign me to a chat during that time) and will continue to read as much as I can - but comments will be reduced somewhat, and participation in chat will be reduced as well.  This may mean that I might not be around to get PMs if they are sent.  I am diligent about checking and replying to email, so anyone who is interested in staying in contact that way, send me a PM and I'll give you my address.

Thanks,

~Jess
