Tired pain stricken marbles
no peace for this writer
surgeon cut away the disease
putting in a valve to continue
this writer’s love
Her pen she could retire
to a life of blank pages
her heart frets to let go
of scribble of words
Blurred vision, fingers on keys
the light gets dimmer
as the words disappear
embedded in electronic data
Mind's sight lives on
nightfall is not welcome
as eyes shutter closes
her thoughts continue to flow
