Late at Night

I glance away from the windows of the soul And stare out the window of my room To glare at the waxing and waning fiend that sears my eyes And mocks the fear of being caught   The ivory door stands guard To ward away criticism and anger Though he’s easily capable of being opened Thoughts are lost to ecstasy   Red satin sheets so soft against the skin Wrap gently around the entwined for comfort Deeply appreciated and yet completely unnoticed As unyielding arms comfort one another   The handmade blanket defiantly hides our wrongdoing A haven made within itself Oppression temporarily shut out A blessings more fine than silver or gold   The bed envelops naïve souls Still believing in eternal everlasting Wise in ways it knows what they don’t This time they see each other will be the last.

Late at Night

There is some great language used here and nice imagery. I'm not sure why exactly, but something about the work itself seems reined somehow. It's as if you haven't truly let it go. Maybe you were nervous about your subject matter (don't be), or maybe you were working too hard on word choice. Whatever the case may be, it still has great structure. A little more freedom and it will truly bloom. ~ Ronda

Completely

This was a paper written like 15 minutes before the class it was due in and I was a little nervous, so it's very restrained. I wasn't sure how my teacher would take it if I put it bluntly. I'm starting not to care. Thank you:) More freedom, less restrictions!

love it!!

i like that the poem takes some thought. i never had sex but i now how the feels can be. any deeper and the poem will be a description of porn or a third party looking in on sex. it won't have any true value to a reader. anyway i love the poem.

Thanks Terry. I don't wan't to start writing porn and I'm done with that third party porn stuff, but I'm glad you understand what it was.
