Across My Heart

Like a cascading waterfall

do the footsteps march

across my heart.

Does this bevy of souls

dare to tread softly,

across my heart?

Not in this lifetime.

For they scurry frantically,

across my heart.

Should I close the pathway,

there would be a wasteland,

across my heart.

So I welcome their trespass,

for any signature is welcome...

..across my heart.

No matter their destination,

their journeys led them...

..across my heart.
