Hope

The flags all fly at half-mast

the tears flowing from our eyes,

when we think of Oklahoma

our grief we can't disguize.

But our direction must be positive

during this horrible twist of fate,

and we must be blessed by those who are with us

before it happens to be too late.

Nobody lives forever

though they were innocent just the same,

let's find solace in recovery

and not give a terrorist fame.

So when disasters like this happen

and you want to turn and shrug,

turn to someone whose love is precious

and give that one a hug.

For our lives are only temporary

and on loan to us you see,

so embrace each spirit that you meet

completely and endlessly.

Written following the bombing that shook Oklahoma, and destroyed so many lives.
