Teach Me

Teach me the ways of happiness

so that I may learn to laugh,

then I will no how to smile

and cut my sorrows in half.

Teach me to be righteous,

loyal, and true,

so that I may someday

be a teacher, too.

Teach me of gentleness

and of humility,

so that I will be humble

and also guilt free.

Let me learn of integrety

and honesty, as well…

so that I’ll be believed

and others will tell.

Teach me to cherish,

nurture, and love…

for these are the traits

that pleases God, up above.
