A humble request / Brothers and Sisters in arms
Hello neopoet friends,
I have an idea that has been forming for about six years now, no coincidence that it came about around September 11. While this was inspired by that day it does not need to be constrained to activity related to it. I would like to suggest we start a group that I propose be called "Brothers and Sisters in arms." The premise of the group would be to do something sacrificially in your local community one time per month and then report it to the group, so that we may recognize it. It would be simple and humble, such as giving blood, volunteering at a soup kitchen, even paying someone's bus fair or other random acts of kindness. I can't promise anyone much. We will not announce any achievements to the world, we won't brag about helping people, nor receive any money, prizes, or glory. We will support and encourage each other and hopefully we can start something grassroots to bring other members into the fold. I think the format would be whoever is head of the group would give a date (or date range) to do the activity of each members and a meeting date (chat room) scheduled for one week later. You will not be asked to pay dues nor donate any money, and you may leave the group or come back at any time. If you are interested please private message me.
Thanks!
Mark Wilson
