Journey's End

I have seen my rainstorms

I’ve seen the sunny days,

seen the storms that tease the shore

making all the kinds of clays;

I’ve seen the darkness change to sunlight

the light nourishing all things,

I’ve seen the wind blend all the elements

I’ve seen what the dawn can bring.

I’ve journeyed through the hardships

I’ve weathered every storm,

but had I not endured the cold

I’d have no knowledge of what was warm.

My journey’s slowly winding down

from a fast pace to a crawl,

and the only thing that I can say

is that I surely lived it all!
