Dreams long forgotten

Dreams long forgotten

Dreams are what form the very being of existence

for these are what keeps one going, persevering

constantly striving, fighting to keep these alive

trying to envision ones future, ensuring

the continued evolution for generations to come

for our dreams may never come to pass in our life time

but may be passed down through the ages

and once they have been studied and found ever so sublime

once they have obtained the true approval

only then are they able to be realized and brought to fruition

but what of those who have given up on their dreams?

When for them, life is nothing what it seems

for they have reached this point through

a long painful journey only to reach this

these people go unnoticed by you

for you walk by them and you totally miss

their vacant, hopeless stares

their empty, sad eyes devoid of all warmth

for their dreams have slowly dwindled away

for them dreams and hopes no longer seem to stay

what is to be done for these dreamless souls?

How can some form of hope be restored?

Do we wait until they have grown frail and old

or do we start now, so that their dreams to can some day be restored?

Dreams come in many forms, hope of fame

dreams of love, new beginnings, eternal wealth

dreams of journeys not yet taken

and for parents, dreams of their children’s health

we all need to have these no matter how big, or small

for dreams are not ours alone to covet

but they are there for everyone, so lets restore these

so that hope is once again there for us all….
