is that all?

eatin’ home-baked bread

near when there’ll be no more

is much too soon forgot,

and what’s done is done

and is no longer fun;

it’s had its all-surpassing run.

though it be better to have eaten it

than to’ve allowed that bread to rot,

when I have done with it,

I will then go on to query,

as an idle afterthought,

“So is that really all

the home-baked bread you’ve got?”

a

commentary on everyday life and the often stale quality of it, perhaps? wondering, "is this it"? i'm probably wrong; but your poetry leaves room open for interpretation in a sort of picturesque way, and i can't resist. intriguing stuff.
