Edward Lear

who can I blame?

if I have your ear,

I’d like to claim—

right now and here,

and for shame!—

that it would appear,

I fear,

that I’m kin to

poet Edward Lear.

I know it’s queer,

but my skin is thin

and cloaked in scant veneer.

I’d really rather

be a kinsman to

William Shakespeare.

and now I sorrow.

please don’t interfere.

:)

this brings smiles to my face. Glad to see you write the way you do, but keep the regality of King Lear, lol! Mark W.
