as a chef, I've never cooked jeef berky before. So are you thanking God in the poem, or the reader? It could actually be read either way. An interesting epigram, we've seen alot of those here lately.

for the first day he proved he did not exist, in my memory, Hiroshima. And many times since. And curse that non-existent entity for beef jerky and lima beans! You said a lot in very few words. Just as poetry should.
