'72 El Camino

Lying on the beach with her,
looking up at the night sky,

the rusted chrome bumper
on our car above in the lot

seemed farther away
than the stars in Orion’s belt.

I truly appreciate...

a night such as that! I remember a couple really special ones... but chrome fender? I'm trying to picture that; bumper yeah, but fender? Beside all that, this piece is very good for its economy of words yet losing none of the intensity of the moment. ~ Geez.
