Happy two thousand twenty fifth birthday Autumn - September twenty second

Methought to borrow

and no, the fall equinox not the same as autumn; rather vernal equinox linkedin to the astronomical beginning of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. Autumn equals the entire season, while the fall equinox constitutes a specific moment—the day when the sun crosses the celestial equator, resulting in nearly equal amounts of daylight and darkness worldwide.

But first etymological climatological meteorological esoterica from our sponsor:

The word autumn (/ˈɔːtəm/) is derived from Latin autumnus, archaic auctumnus, possibly from the ancient Etruscan root autu-and has within it connotations of the passing of the year. Alternative etymologies include Proto-Indo-European *h₃ewǵ- ("cold") or *h₂sows- ("dry").

If you reside in the Eastern time zone, then fall officially begins at 2:19 PM., local time. The start of fall will be at 1:19 p.m. in the Central time zone, 12:19 p.m. in the Mountain time zone and 11:19 a.m. in the Pacific time zone.

Neopoet AI [2025-04]

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet’s AI:

This poem ambitiously weaves together philosophical allusion, etymological exploration, meteorological observation, and environmental commentary, creating a dense tapestry of ideas and reflections. The intermingling of Nietzsche’s Übermensch, the scientific precision of equinox timings, and the lament over ecological degradation presents a layered narrative that challenges the reader to engage on multiple intellectual levels.

Strengths: - The poem’s structure, with its parenthetical asides and interjections, mimics the complexity and fragmentation of contemporary thought, effectively conveying a stream-of-consciousness style. - The use of specific details, such as time zone differences for the fall equinox and the etymology of “autumn,” grounds the poem in concrete knowledge, lending it an informative dimension. - The thematic progression—from philosophical borrowing to environmental urgency—creates a compelling arc that reflects on human impact and the passage of time.

Areas for development: - The density of information and the frequent shifts in focus can hinder emotional resonance. Consider balancing the intellectual content with more vivid sensory imagery or personal reflection to deepen reader engagement. - Some lines are syntactically complex or fragmented (e.g., “hoop fully a more seasonable / cooling trend rounds out ninth month”), which may disrupt flow. Streamlining syntax and clarifying phrasing could enhance readability. - The poem’s tone fluctuates between formal exposition and colloquial interjections (“argh,” “hoop fully”), which can be effective but might benefit from more consistent modulation to maintain coherence. - The environmental message is urgent but somewhat generalized; incorporating specific, evocative scenes or metaphors could amplify its emotional impact. - The poem occasionally uses unconventional punctuation and spacing that might confuse readers. Reviewing these choices for intentionality and effect could strengthen the poem’s presentation.

Overall, the poem’s intellectual ambition is clear, but refining its linguistic clarity and emotional texture would help its thematic concerns resonate more powerfully. Balancing erudition with accessibility and integrating more sensory or narrative elements could enhance its effectiveness.

While watching...

Trump addressing the United Nations, I was drawn to your tirade of Lucifer in his plea to rule his subjects, rather than let them decide for themselves. Some irony heh? Watching his speech is like having a history lesson by an egotistical janitor who knows how a school works. ~ Geez.
