The Impulsive Wanderer

In the quiet town where whispers meet,
Lives a man with restless feet.
He leaps before his thoughts align,
Tracing paths both wild and fine.

Through cobbled streets, he roams so free,
A heart unchained by destiny.
Yet every turn, a choice unplanned,
Leads him to a troubled land.

He sees a bridge, decides to cross,
Ignoring signs that warn of loss.
The planks beneath his hurried stride,
Creak and groan, yet he’ll abide.

A merchant's stall with treasures bright,
Catches his eye one fateful night.
He spends his gold on trinkets frail,
Not knowing they would soon turn stale.

In love, he falls at every glance,
Entranced by dreams of fleeting chance.
But hearts he breaks and tears he sows,
For thought's embrace, he seldom knows.

In friendships too, his whims run wild,
A fleeting friend, a wayward child.
Promises made on whims of haste,
Dissolve like mist, a bitter taste.

And so he wanders, day by day,
A soul adrift, a mind at bay.
For in his heart, he longs to find,
The peace that comes from pondering mind.

The townsfolk watch with weary eyes,
This man who lives on chance and lies.
They whisper prayers for his soul,
That one day, he might find his goal.

For wisdom's gift, a steady hand,
Can guide him through this troubled land.
And if he learns to pause, to see,
What wondrous life his own could be.

But until then, he’ll roam and stray,
A restless wind, both night and day.
A man who never thinks things through,
Caught in a web of choices few.

I really..

appreciate the thought put into this one. Yes, sometimes we long for lasting friendships and stability. Often, we equate how many friends we have, with how happy we think we will be. Yet, it is not the many acquaintances we have, but the strong and lasting ones that are important. Nice job of reminding us of that. The pace is good and the lines flow well. -Geez.
