Wraith

Yesterday
Trust was a wet fish
Nearly dead and dinner
Contorting to breathe
In a world without water

Tonight
I’m a wraith
between worlds
Seeking solace
Visage vague
Feeling familiar

Tomorrow
I’m details
Diligence due
Pacing steps left
by lesser men
Unspun yarn
rotting in the loom

Wraith

Good morning, Poet,
The sense of uncertainty of self, purpose, perhaps place in a demanding, but still lonely world - both on a personal level, and universally. Beautiful alliteration throughout. Strong title that equals your final line.

This poem feels really strong

This poem feels really strong to me. The consistent use of metaphor and personification of trust. I think, also, the language flows really nicely. And I enjoyed how each stanza was a different time frame, good idea.
