Halloween At A Destination Graveyard
Graveyard Gus shook a bony head,
His sockets burning dark and red,
He paused to clack his rotted tongue,
Sighing from a blackened lung,
"Oh, Halloween!" he glumly said.
Misty Missy fled deep dirt
Mouth agape as if it hurt
Her wispy face was cross and mean
"Cursed be, it's Halloween,
Tourist hordes and guides who blurt."
Gordie Ghostie, well hung with chains,
Complained to all his deadly dames,
"Our bones will shake from vlogging waves,
And goths that couple on our graves!
Read the rest of the poem Show less
Halloween's tough for our remains!"
But came the Digger, grey and shining,
"Stop with all that ghostly whining!
New rules today and aren't they dandy?
We get the spirits of every candy!
On this night we're sweetly dining!"
So all the ghosts rushed to the crypt,
For shadow cookies, double-dipped,
For vaporous chocolates in every shape,
For spectral suckers, flavored grape,
For phantom ciders, grand if sipped,
And sugar skulls that grinned and nipped.
So while the living gawked,uncaring,
the dead, at last, were gifted sharing,
Treated, not tricked,
And happily daring,
Another Halloween!
