Where does it hurt?
It hurts in the center, where the ribs aren't strong enough to hold your ghost in place.
In my mind, memories loop like a broken tape.
I tried swallowing the grief, hoping my body would digest this pain - only for it to linger in my veins.
My whole body is now in pain.
It has leaked out of frame, staining the edges of my tiny world.
It's in the supermarket aisle, where your taste lingers on display.
It's in the flavor of a drink I haven't touched in weeks.
It bleeds into songs that feel like you.
It waits in corners of my room, where air still holds the echoes of our daily calls.
It flickers on my phone, where we play out a life I'm still not able to let go.
It's in the rainy days - when drops hit my face and take me back to our first date.
My feet are heavy, forced to step into tomorrows I never wanted to claim.
